COVID Vaccine Update
We are excited that our COVID Vaccination programme has begun.
We have now invited all patients from Cohorts 01-04 (70 years +).
If you haven't had a vaccination or been invited please contact us ASAP so that we can arrange.
We hope to be able to move on to Cohort 05 (65+) very soon and are awaiting direction from NHS England.
- Residents in a care home for older adults and staff working in care homes for older adults
- All those 80 years of age and over and frontline health and social care workers
- All those 75 years of age and over
- All those 70 years of age and over and clinically extremely vulnerable individuals (not including pregnant women and those under 16 years of age)
- All those 65 years of age and over
We will be inviting patients for a vaccine in the order of priority determined by NHS England* and we will contact you directly as soon as we are able to book you for a vaccination appointment.
The current guidance is that everybody should receive two doses, with a second dose given towards the end of a 12 week period after the initial vaccination.
To speed up vaccinations being given, mass vaccination sites and some pharmacies are also offering the jab; these invitation letters are being managed nationally and not by the practice. If you choose to book a vaccination at one of the mass vaccination centres or pharmacies you may need to travel further. If you prefer, you can wait to be contacted by the practice and have your vaccination organised at our Primary Care Network (PCN) Vaccination site at Jericho Health Centre. It is important to be aware that you will need to have your second dose at the same place where you had your first dose and this cannot be changed.
IMPORTANT: We are unable to vaccinate you if you have coronavirus symptoms (cough, fever, loss of sense of taste or smell) or have tested positive in the last 4 weeks OR are currently in a COVID Vaccine Trial and have not been unblinded. If you have an appointment please cancel this.
