Hospital referrals

If the treatment you require means it is necessary to see a specialist, your 28 Beaumont Street GP will give you the details of at least four hospitals or clinics to choose from, as well as the time and date of your appointment - this is known as Choose & Book.

If you have made an appointment using Choose and Book that you need to change at a later stage, you should call your chosen hospital not 28 Beaumont Street.

Travelling to Hospital for your appointment

Public transport

All three hospital sites (John Radcliffe and Churchill Hospitals, Headington and the Horton Hospital, Banbury) are serviced by regular buses operated by Oxford Bus Company (01865 785 400) and Stagecoach (01865 772 250).

Each hospital site has limited Pay & Display parking areas and access to local Park & Ride services.

Non emergency ambulance transport

This includes ambulances, ambulance & voluntary cars and taxis to help get you to and from all Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals. Patients are only eligible for this service if they:

• require continuous oxygen;
• are unable to stand or walk more than a few steps and who cannot use public transport;
• require a stretcher; or
• have a disability or a genuine reason as to why they are unable to travel by private or public transport
